Rusty's JL Wrangler 2.0L & 3.6L Fuel Tank Skid is constructed using 3/16” steel and is ready to be painted or coated with a product of your choice. The Rusty's fuel tank skid replaces the factory skid reducing weight as well as gaining over an inch more ground clearance. On an extended 4 door the extra clearance makes a world of difference. The install "DOES NOT REQUIRE" the tank to be removed. The Rusty's skid offers so much more protection than many of the other skids, most making a minor bend at the bottom, the Rusty's skid extends up 4 to 6 inches up the side of the tank. This gives you added protection if a rock wedges up between the driveshaft and skid and if a driveshaft should ever be broke it would protect it from hitting the fuel tank. With Rusty's fuel tank skid you can have the peace of mind to do any trail and not worry with a chance of damaging the fuel pump or tank.
